Agreed.  I recall an email conversation with someone about the cost of 
high-test gas, hating to pay for it for his Spitfire.  I suggested that the 
cost might be 10% to 20% more than the low-octane stuff that goes in the family 
SUV, but the Spitfire gets 30% to 50% better mileage.  The conclusion is 
obvious.  Forget the cost, get the LBC to do its thing as well as it can!
