 According to my books, "Grease as recommended -- 5 strokes every 24,000 miles" 
(with the "recommended" grease being whatever you're using for other chassis 
lubrication, such as rear hubs or the steering rack).

The water pump on my spitfire has a plug on the top of the housing that I would 
guess to be for lubrication. I see nothing in the manual. What should I be 
using 
in there, if anything?
