Given that you can hear the solenoid operating, IMO the logical place to
start would be with a pressure test. But if you don't happen to have the
gauge and adapter handy, get one on order

and check the solenoid adjustment. First with the book method (3/16" rod
through the lever on the right), and then double-check by measuring the ball
lift.
