FWIW, that trick still works with the gear-drive starters. Last summer, when my condenser crapped out in rush hour traffic, I walked the car across 4 lanes of freeway to the shoulder that way. And unlike the Lucas boat anchor, it didn't seem to slow down during the trip. -- Randall |
