I have found that the life of rubber bushings varies greatly depending =
on application and materials, lower inner suspension bushings on the =
front suspensions of TRs and Big Healeys, have been known to be doing =
yeoman's service on the cars from new til now (they are usually rusted =
on and a pita to replace as well). The upper inners on the TR4-6 don't =
seem to last nearly as long.

I have polyurethane on the upper front inners of my TR250, they didn't =
appear to be wearing out when I took them out for re-lubing this year, =
after about 4-5 years of use that had gotten very squeaky (but lots of =
silicone grease and they are very quiet again).

I have heard that polyurethanes can wear out from friction, and they =
will pivot instead of flexing in many if not most applications, but I =
haven't experienced it on many of my cars.

I changed them 14 years bac on my Stag This were the days before I heard =
about polyurethane.

Are polyurethane bushes really fit and forget?
