Are you sure the heavy yellow wire is spliced together with the brown/white=
 and brown/blue wires?=C2=A0 Many of the instructions on the
Internet say to connect the yellow to the starter solenoid, which will bypa=
ss the ammeter and cause it to never register charge.

There is something to be said for that configuration actually, since the st=
ock ammeter is only designed for 30 amps.=C2=A0 I chose a
different route, and added a shunt on the back of the ammeter to handle par=
t of the current.
