A steel top will be very handy, particularly if you do any welding.
Grounding your welder to the table keeps you from constantly having to
change where on the part you are grounding it.

Subject: [TR] Off Topic Question

I would like to rebuild my garage work bench which I have used for 35 years.
It's getting a bit rough looking. I made it out of 2x4's with 5/8" particle
board for the work surface. It's about 2' wide and 8' long. I would like to
at least replace the particle board with metal. Has anybody done this? What
thickness did you use for the work surface?

Thanks,

Dave Connitt
