It's a double-edged sword.=C2=A0 If you have the correct crimper for the t=
erminals you are using you will get very good results.=C2=A0 Most $30 crimp=
ers you get from H-F don't necessarily properly fit the crimps they sell.=
=C2=A0 I bought a pair and I stopped using them since I can just pull the c=
rimps off by hand.=C2=A0 But if I use the AMP crimper here at work on the A=
MP crimps the results are as good as it gets.=C2=A0 And it's quick.=C2=A0 A=
nd consistent.=C2=A0 Same results every time.

Soldering works well - IF you know how to solder.=C2=A0 I solder pretty wel=
l, I have a lot of experience and I do it frequently when I don't have the =
proper crimper.=C2=A0 But take care that you don't linger too long and wick=
a bunch of solder up the wire creating a stress point that will fail under=
vibration.=C2=A0 And a cold solder joint is as bad as a poor crimp.
For water-proof connections solder is better with a wrap of good-quality el=
ectrical tape.=C2=A0 But the best ever is a special heat-shrink tubing that=
has hot melt glue on the ID.=C2=A0 The glue melts when the tubing is shrun=
k and forms a solid seal against all possible intrusions.=C2=A0 Not easy to=
 find, however.
