Keith,

I also have a TR4A with HS6s. An issue I have regularly, but only when I
store it for a couple weeks or more in warm to hot temps, is that some kind
of blockage gets created in the jets. It causes similar symptoms as yours,
but maybe not as pronounced. It will normally idle OK, but has no power
when I try to drive it.

What I've learned to do is pull the carb's top covers (bell shaped housing)
and piston/needle assembly out and then spray some carb cleaner, WD40, or
any kind of thin HC based spray into the top of the jet using one of the
"straws" attached to the can. Doesn't seem to be sensitive to how much.
This immediately fixes it and I've gotten to where I can do it in less than
10 minutes.

Sorry, I'm on the digest so this may be a bit behind. Hopefully the
problem is already solved.
