Several years ago, Pirelli started remaking their famous CN36 tires. I had =
them on my 1st TR4 in 1976. Today I have a set of 185/70-15's on my stock T=
R4 steel wheels and absolutely love them. They look period correct and are =
VERY sticky. You can find them at Lucas Classic Tires:

Subject: [TR] 62 TR4 tires
I have 15 inch wire wheels, 5=94 wide, 72 spoke. Its an early TR4 in the 9=
000 commission number range.
I just checked my date code and YIKES!!! Its 2011!!!!!
Needless to say I=92m in for new tires.
These have less than 5,000 miles on them. But =96 I bought the car which h=
ad sat for 25+ years, and put new tires on it so I could drive it after reb=
uilding the hydraulics, etc. Realized the rings were shot but life interve=
ned. Several years later I put 89 mm pistons in it and started driving it.
Now its today and I need new tires again. Its got 185 / 65 on it now; I=92=
m wondering how wide I can go? Obviously tread life is not a concern!!! A=
nd the car is far from stock; the first and second owners replaced the gene=
rator and did a lot of performance mods. This is Dallas; I try not to driv=
e in inclement weather and obviously snow is not an issue. So I=92m lookin=
g at =93high performance summer tires.=94
