Thanks Glen
I think it may have just been the connections under the wood trim center
piece where they are crowded by the window  and light switch wires.  They
seemed a bit loose.   OD tested OK on a short drive, but the test was a bit
confused by a gulping Hiolley. But that's another story.  It will take a
serious drive to be sure it  is now OK.
I dread getting at the top cover switches -probably beyond my  ability at
this point.
