Hi All,
Around two weeks ago I was at a local cars and coffee andwhen I went to lea=
ve my 74 TR6 just made a one-time clicking noice on the rightside (by the f=
use box) every time I turned the key but would not turn over. Iturned the b=
attery disconnect on and off a couple times and it started right up.
=C2=A0Fast forward to today it did the same thing, started up from home no =
problem, but would not start when I went to leave, I again fooled with the b=
attery disconnectand got it running. Ran a few errands and started up no pr=
oblem each time. Gothome it would not start. I hooked up my charger battery=
pack, and it startedright up. I assumed it was the battery so took my old =
one in they did confirmit was bad.
=C2=A0I bought a new battery and now continue to just getting a clickingnoi=
ce (not by the starter but seems to be coming from the relays by the fusebo=
x even with my battery pack hooked up to the new battery. Things I have tro=
ubleshot:
=C2=B7=C2=A0=C2=A0=C2=A0=C2=A0=C2=A0=C2=A0Replaced the battery.
=C2=B7=C2=A0=C2=A0=C2=A0=C2=A0=C2=A0=C2=A0Hit the starter with a hammer.
=C2=B7=C2=A0=C2=A0=C2=A0=C2=A0=C2=A0=C2=A0Tried using the battery pack with=
the new battery. Also made sure the new battey was fully charged with my tr=
ickle charger.
=C2=B7=C2=A0=C2=A0=C2=A0=C2=A0=C2=A0=C2=A0Checked all the battery wires for=
corrosion/connectionsat starter and ground.
=C2=B7=C2=A0=C2=A0=C2=A0=C2=A0=C2=A0=C2=A0Removed the battery disconnect an=
d directly wiredthe cables to the battery.
The starter is an older gear reduction starter and before Ilook to replace =
it wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions. Also, what ismaking the cli=
ck by the fuse box? Could that be something?
Thanks in advce for any feedback,
Robert
