Vixen Turbine Wheels

Does anybody on the list have a TVR where the tires are installed on the
original aluminum turbine wheels without using tubes?  I recall being told
years ago these wheels were not designed for tubeless tires, and that an
inner tube was necessary. I was recently told by a tire shop that they can
install tubeless tires on the rims without inner tubes (they had not seen
the rims). Comments?
