Now that you mention it...
The guy I used to ride horses for (my intro to sporty cars) used to tow
his Hartman horse trailer (heavier than most) with (drum roll) a Jaguar
Mark IX saloon, with Tia Maria on tap in the bar in the back. Blew the
Prince's electrics every time out, or so it seemed. The Jag was an
automatic, if memory serves! We never went cross country. But it was
comfy.
