Offical notice to those attending the SVRA Event at the Glen Sept. 9 to
13th.  To celebrate the 50 yrs of road racing at the community of Watkins
Glen NY the SVRA is offering an unique experience to the vintage racing
community.  If your SVRA entered sports car is 1948 to 1952 you may attend
the reinactment of the first TECH. which was held at SMALLEY'S Garage on
Franklin Street during the 1948 event: "The Day the Trains Were Stopped." 
   Race cars will leave the track with a police escort during Friday at
9:oo AM.  Please be at the THUR. Drivers meeting for additional
information. A Mrs SMALLEY look-a-like will be wearing the first Lady of
Tech's original white coat from 1948.  Mr. Ralph Whaley will conduct tech
using period tools & techniques that are still in place from 50 years ago
at the still working daily garage of Tom Smalley, Son of Lester, a member
of the l948 event committee. 

   A commercial photographer will be available to record for you photo
images of your car in this historic setting.  Bob Williams will make an
announcement during Thursday's driver's meeting to relay additional
information.
