Remember back to those long-ago days in English class, when you
were given a sentence and asked to find and correct any errors ?
Here's an exercise from today's AUTOSPORT On-Line, referring
to the Petit LeMans win at Mosport by Panoz.
"It was the first time a front-engined sports car has won at
Mosport, and the first time one has won anywhere since Phil
Hill at LeMans in 1962".
On a more serious note, news spread on Saturday that Malcolm
Labatt-Simon, well-known as "the man with the tam", Lime Rock's chief
starter for
many years up to an including last year's Vintage Festival,
passed away on Friday. Malcolm had been diagnosed with a form
of leukemia only days earlier, and apparently contracted
an infection which could not be treated.
