Since the first road races I attended were at Road America I have to second 
the odor of fresh brats on the grill as my all time favorite.  Others:
    - how about the smell of a campfire from the days that some of us 
impoverished fans went to just watch the races.  (Stale beer odor seems to 
come to mind in connection with that one!)
    - The smell of money (mostly emanating from the big rigs disgorging 
impossibly expensive cars with crewmen in bright perfect uniforms)
