Here,s a comparison of the hazards of participating in motorsports with other
activities. From a New Zealand paper:
Fatalities last year-Rugby 2, fishing 6, underwater diving 9, boating 9,
swimming 24, and motor racing 0.
For the last 6 years-Rugby 10, mountaineering 19, hiking 17, underwater diving
41, boating 43, fishing 46, swimming 139, and motor racing 7.
