I was wondering. on the website
"http://www.me.mtu.edu/~prater/GT40/GT40.html"; the following appears "The
Ford GT-40 is so named due to it's overall height of 40 inches." I saw an
interview with the man Carol Shelby a few years ago and he said that he
wasn't sure if they had named it GT40 due to its height being 40 inches. I
was wondering if you had some source that would confirm that it was named
for this (otherwise rather trivial) dimension.
