Good Morning:
Missouri Valley Race Group is a partnership between two SCCA regions, Des
Moines Valley Region and Nebraska Region. MVRG has two Regional/National
events scheduled this year and also has a Double Regional weekend on
October 4/5. These events are being held at the new Mid America Motorplex
near Omaha.
I would like to suggest to MVRG that we add a race group to the October
event for vintage. At the fall vintage race at Road America it appears
that every type of vehicle is allowed on the track at the same time so I'm
thinking that one group will work. In order to understand if this is
viable, I need more information.
Is a one group race acceptable?
How is licensing and membership handled? Must be SCCA member? Must have
SCCA license?
Is additional insurance required?
Based on the variety of vehicles, is it appropriate to black flag for over
aggressive driving?
Must the cars meet current SCCA safety standards?
Is there usually a Vintage Group involved such as VSCDA involved?
Or is all of this just a dumb idea?
I would really appreciate any feedback.
