I had a similar problem with a VW once. The dizzy clamp was bent and the di=
zzy body was not fully seated in the case (block). The dern thing would idl=
e and rev w/o load but if I tried to drive it it would come out of the driv=
e dog and turn off like a switch had been thrown. Of course fiddling with i=
