Ste= ve, I would put together an inventory and just list it as one lot - buyer t= akes all - at a reasonable price. If you're just willing to dump it all at = a recycler
an= yway, then you should put a price on it a little more than you'd get at the= recycler. That way, the parts stay in circulation, you clean up some space= and get some
bucks back on your investment. Put it on craigslist first, for free...

Tom, I have been using synth oil in = my =E2=80=9962 mga for over 10 years.=C2=A0 In fact,=C2=A0 I use synthetic = in all of my engines, even my lawn tractor.

Costs m= ore $$$, but much better lubrication.

I confess, after years of using Shel= l Rotella for the ZDDP, when I switched to Red Line 20w50 I didn=E2=80=99= t even give the ZDDP a second thought.=C2=A0 I will also admit to measurabl= y less oil consumption with the Red Line.=C2=A0 No unusual wear yet!

There=E2=80=99s no blue smoke, and i= t leaks just like any other stock MGA, so I have to assume leakage, althoug= h I wouldn=E2=80=99t rule out a small amount of burning.=C2=A0=C2=A0

I cannot fathom the reason it consumes less with Red Lin= e, but it does, through the last few driving seasons (since I started using= Red Line).

Actually, my MGA consumes a quart of Red Line in about 1200 miles, and a = quart of anything else (well, have only used a couple other brands/formulat= ions) in 400 =E2=80=93 600 miles.   Almost makes it worth the pri= ce.

The real question is will your MG= keep synthetic inside. My experience is

that synth= etic leaks more than dino juice, somewhat due to lower viscosity.

Don't worry about the ZDDP if your engine is anywhere near s= tock, the

current spec is very close to what early = '60s and older oils had in them.

For engines design= ed in the late '60 (designed - not built) there could be

an issue with the current spec, but even that is questionable. For a = '57

MGA, the engine is, shall we say, somewhat agri= cultural.
