Greetings from a long-time missing from this forum ex- MGB Racer.

=20

As much as I miss my old "B" there is little chance I will ever get =
another
and I just found this lightly used Maniflow intake manifold and Weber =
45DCOE
among the "stuff" in my garage.

=20

I used this carb & manifold for a short time with the '66 MGB I owned =
for
many years. I don't remember how long either was used. But, it is time =
to
send them on to help another MGBer go faster.

=20

The Maniflow intake retails for =A3185 or $250. The Weber is a 45DCOE =
152,
No. 242 02 made in Spain. Looking at one on eBay asking $518 for a new =
one.
Do a search for 45DCOE's on eBay and you find all kinds of NON-Weber =
carbs.
But, this is a real one and includes a bunch of jets (Air Correction, =
Main &
Pump), new gaskets and linkage pieces.

=20

Make me an offer for the combination. Buyer pays the shipping from SW
Florida.

We need a couple door panel clips for a 72 mgb roadster.

Moss part 226-670

I'm thinking there's a similar part available at a flaps or maybe big box
hardware store? Seems pretty simple.

Anyone have a cast iron stock exhaust manifold for a 1967 MG engine they
would like to sell? Converting my 69 MGB GT from a Weber carb and
performance header to SU carbs and stock exhaust. Tired of the exhaust
leaks and Weber tuning.

Yes - I did that switch on my 72B. Mostly because I had a decent rebuilt
set from a 71BGT to use and I am very familiar with the HS4s and no
experience with the HIF carbs. I did use the HIF carbs for at least a
few months or so before removal  and they did seem to have some
advantages, in particular in cold weather starting as I recall.

Now that I have several MGs (67BGT, 72B, 64B), I am giving some thought
to putting the HIFs back in the 72B this winter, granted I am also
currently rebuilding the 67BGT.

The casting number is commonly one digit=20
different from the final part number. I think=20
they made the finished part drawing first, then=20
made a copy of it to modify the drawing to show=20
more material on the casting before=20
machining. When assigning drawing numbers, the=20
finished part number was first followed by the=20
casting number. Some castings can be machined=20
differently to make different finished parts (with different part numbers).

Haven't had it too long. Seemed to be running ok; had transmission problem=
s so we swapped out for a good one.

Just had a very knowledgeable friend set the timing and the carbs and the c=
hoke adjustment.

Pull the choke all the way out and it starts ok; but seems to backfire a bi=
t, especially when cold. After it warms up you can push the choke back in =
and it runs and idles ok except it seems to have a loss of power in the 300=
0 + rpm range, and does occasionally still backfire.

Has a Pertronix but other than that seems pretty stock including the air pu=
mp. Tends to run on a bit after you turn it off.

The '73 MGB should have JIF carburetors, carbon canister and
anti-run-on valve (also air pimp and gulp valve). If ll is in place,
the ARO valve should prevent run-on when switched off. With backfire
and low power at road speed, you may have a vacuum leak of lean fuel
condition. Tell us what is not installed exactly as original. Has
the throttle valve poppets been soldered shut? Missing air pump or
gulp valve? Missing of disconnected carbon canister or ARO
valve? Is distributor vacuum advanve working?
