From morgans-owner@autox.team.net Thu Jul 13 06:42:09 2006 From: Nelson & Linda Warner To: undisclosed-recipients:; Date: Thu, 13 Jul 2006 09:34:39 -0400 Subject: Lucas Distributor Rotor While traveling to MOG-36 Ol'Blu, 61 +4, sputtered to a stop with the gas gauge showing a quarter tank. We rolled it down a hill to a gas station and filled up. Still wouldn't start, so I changed the distributor rotor, and the engine started right up, problem solved. This is the second Lucas rotor failure I've had in 3 years. Has anyone else had this problem? The Spridget list has many references, some think the keyway on the rotor is a bit too big. If it is hard to install or remove file the keyway on the rotor, otherwise the rotor may crack. Linda at Morgan Spares has changed suppliers, and others have started using NAPA rotors. I'll ordering one from Linda and one from NAPA. Once upon a time rotors were something I changed only on a major tune up. Now it seems like I'm changing them more often than my socks. Funny how they look great in the older colors, metallic just does not do it for me on a morgan! lots of Lobsters went bravely, and lots of conversation. Met some from before such as the Wilburns, and many I had not, about 1/3 to 1/2 were new faces. Left from us this way in Orono early in AM and returned the 2.5 hrs drive back to the Bangor Maine area from Harpswell. a bit tired but well worth it! Glad to see all of you on the list anytime up this way in Maine.
