I've always run mine on 87 with no problems but I heard of others switching having to adjust timing for the new octane to get the car to run right.

You know, my 69 has developed this same problem, but it's so old I try not to
expect too much. However, I have put it on an 87 octane diet since the prices
tripled+. I used to pump '89-plus' and I don't recall having the problem. I
suppose I can afford the 'luxury' of going back up.
