You are right about that.  In fact "none" of the published commission number 
lists are correct or complete. The changes btw the 1970 and 1971 North 
American spec model year were slight so Triumph used a continuous run of 
serial numbers for those 2 years.  However the break point between the 2 
years is now known and will be published.

CC58297L was the last car of the 1970 model year and the first car of the 
1971 model year was CC58298L.  By the way the Rossi & Clarke book is wrong.
