Subject: OIl pressure light question

Here is a good one for the 6 pack listers to ponder:

Went out to start up the '75 TR-6 and discovered the amber oil lift glowing brightly. Be careful here-- remember the car is not running and the ignition key is in my hand. With the engine running the light goes off--indicating oil pressure as it is supposed to.

So, on advice of another TR-6 owner I disconnected the White/Purple wire from the 3 wire oil pressure sensor. White purple leads to the anti-run valve. The amber light went out but now doesn't operate as it should.

Can someone enlighten me as to the relationship between the anti-run on valve--which must have failed--and the oil pressure sensing unit on the left hand side of the engine--and the operation of the amber pressure light. Remember--only the '75-'76 models had the 3 wire pressure sensing unit.
