What a great picture! I wish my John Deere engines looked like that!

Thanks, Berry, and the rest of the group as well for your replies and assistance.

I’ve ordered the correct bushing based on actual crank end measurements. The correct one happens to fit several other Brit cars including the Spitfire and GT6. Whatever the reason, my ‘75 2.5 liter TR6 cranks (BOTH the one I removed and the one I installed to replace it) have the same size crank opening requiring a size bushing other than the one included in the LUK kit.

Here’s the latest photo of my progress:

I continue to be amazed at how quickly members respond when someone needs help. Thank you.

Bob-The 69 TR6s used a different flywheel&pilot bushing. Your LUK kit must have included the early pilot bushing. Also, the TR6 engine was derived from the Spitfire.

The correct bushing-for my TR6 application is also listed for the…..drum roll…the GT6.

I thought the Spitfire was a four banger.

So maybe only the bushing is common.

You’ve always got great ideas. This is what I would do IF I HAD KEPT MY OLD BUSHING! what a dummy. The specs for the spitfire bushing match my crank perfectly. How does a spitfire crank end up in a TR6?

Thanks Dick.

In a pinch I noticed on this year pilot bushing all the wear was on on end. Turn it around for more years of good service.

Correction on the crank diameter; it's .75"

Thanks again.

Fellow Sixers:

The pilot bushing that came with my LUK clutch kit (19-030) is too big. The crank opening on my '75 is.69" and this is 1". Inside diameter fits the trans output shaft perfectly.

Any ideas? Have the correct one for sale?

Thank you.
