In that case, I would not bother to replace with the Series V alternator, 
with its external control pack.

I went for a standard unit from Lucas, which had previously served an MG 
Montego. 

It's a good fit, but you will need the lower mounting bracket, and possibly 
the adjusting bracket from the SV. I happened to have these left over from an 
SV.
