William Carroll, the author of the history book Tiger-An Exceptional Motor
Car, The Cobra Guide, west coast corespondent for Automotive News during the
1960's, and previous longtime owner of the white Shelby prototype Tiger died
on January 27, 2014, by his own hand. He was 98. In the Cougar photo(on FB),
Mr. Carroll is the gentleman in the white sweater on the driver side of the
car.

The last time I saw him was near the end of Tigers United in 2010 in
Santa Rosa in the parts room when he came by my table to ask if I wanted to
sell reprints of his Tiger book for him. He looked in poor health at that
time. I learned about his death from a trustee for his estate after I sent a
letter to Mr Carroll to ask about selling more books.

This account is from my
obituary for William Carroll appearing on the Facebook Sunbeam Tiger page. For
a picture of Mr. Carroll taken during the press introduction for the 1967
Cougar, go to the Tiger or Classic Cougar FB page.
