My BJ7 received a new vacuum advance this weekend. Woo-Hoo. While working
on the distributor, I noticed the short wire that connects the points with
the coil connection on the inside of the distributor body, to be well
weathered and on the verge of breaking. I bandaged it with electrical tape,
and proceeded to close the patient up. Needless to say when I tried to
start the beast, it just gave me a token cough now and then. Checking for
spark at the plugs, I found what could be describe as a sickly spark, and I
have the feeling it may be my bandaging of the wire. Does Mo** or Vic Brit
carry the "shunt" wire, or do I have to fabricate a new one?
Any suggestions?
