Help with Jensen Healey

Is it a spin-on or a cartridge filter? Seems to me they were spin-on. If so,
look up the one in the filter book at Shuck's or NAPA for a Vauxhall/Ford 2.0
liter. (Pinto) The height and diameter notwithstanding, the proof is in
looking inside the filter and seeing if the "splatter plate" is well down in
the spin-on hole. There were several thousand of the first spin-on's from BMC
with the plate up quite high up and it cut off the oil flow. MGB's had the
same problem. I know FRAM sells them off the shelf. It's just a matter of
getting the right one.
Or, if a spin-on, take a little lacquer thinner and wipe the paint off and see
what's under it. It was common practice to paint them to match the engine
color so the owner would not know what to buy off the shelf and would have to
come to a dealer. Do not ask me how I know this.
