Mitch,
Use the original STEEL ones! 
 Steel wool them to clean, paint them in clear to make them happy. 
Do NOT sand or steel wool them out of their factory finish. 
Williams oil filter in Tacoma will use your old factory fittings over and  
bend a new one to match your sample, if you feel a need to spend money.
They can also silver solder a hole for you , Just like they did for me in  
1988 and It still is fine!
