I Want to thank all those who came to my barbecue.  I especially want to
thank Arlene and Jean for taking care of making the lemonade and Tom, the
grilling master, and his assistant Shellia and also the relief guy, my son
Colin, for taking charge of the Hamburgers.  Also, for Arlene who quietly
cleaned up a lot of the mess after the barbecue.  You are all great.  I had
a wonderful time  and hope eveyone else did too.  I do hope eveyone got
better acquainted with the Triumph members.  Looking forward to Wenatchee.

Traffic advisory:
For those traveling up Highway 3 past Bremerton if you take the exit to 
highway 305 you will encounter a detour at the intersection with Highway 
307 (Bond Road).  It will add several minutes and a few miles to your 
trip.  My advice is to stay on Highway 3 past the Hood Canal Bridge and 
go through Port Gamble.  That road will intersect Highway 307 (Bond Rd) 
about 3 miles from PT Gamble where you will take a left at the light (a 
"T" intersection) from there follow the directions given for Bond Rd.  I 
often go this way during peak traffic hours anyway as it is quicker than 
going on 305 even without the detour, it is also more scenic. 
Hope to see you all on the 19th.  So far only 7 couples have indicated 
they are coming.

Reservation Status August 6th.
So far we have only 12 rooms reserved for Thursday and 16 rooms on 
Friday and Saturday.  With only 3 weeks to go for the reservation quota 
I am concerned about attendance.  There doesn't seem to be much interest 
from the Cascade Club Dry Side, Oregon, or BC (yet?).  Any suggestions 
on how to get them to sign up?

meet the Golden Gate Club web site if we get him the info.  Could you

Phil and I are taking the REALLY scenic route!!  We left Woodinville
Friday, drove down the Oregon coast as far as Banden, and are in Prospect
tonight.  Tomorrow we loop around Crater Lake, then head
northeasterly...maybe...we never know where we'll end up!  But we should
be in Wenatchee on time and maybe on budget!  Car's running great, put
the top on for a few showers, but mostly warm, cloudy, and top down.

I MAY be taking my BJ-9 to Wenatchee on Saturday.  I may have lots of room but

I had intended to lead a group to Wenatchee over Hwy #2 but something has

up and Terri & I can not go.  So you need to talk amongst yourselves and let
each other now who is going Highway #2 and if you still want to meet at the
Buss Inn in Monroe.  I got a call from Bruce Goodrich and he would like to
go
Hwy 2 but can't get to Monroe until 10:00.

Don't worry about the trip to the ranch, Jim; things have priorities and
this is one of them. You'll miss this year's Trip to the Ranch. On my side,
I'll talk to the guys and see how can we team together in this trip. On the
other side, rain is forecast for Saturday and Sunday; so we might take the
BJ9.

I MAY be taking my BJ-9 to Wenatchee on Saturday.  I may have lots of room
but
am coming back that night-I think.  If you can make some sense of all this

don't know and "I think I might" stuff, let me know if you want to go with

troops in one 9 passenger Ford Expedition.  If many want to stay

We are in Central Oregon and it is so
great,
The weather is great for the Healey, low 80's and clear,

Saturday and help us find it under the dust,

OK, here goes for my plans---- Alex, Ellie and I (maybe Gordy and Mitzie) will
be meeting up at 8:15 AM at exit 9 on 405.  There is a park and ride on the
right side of the highway (east side).  We will be leaving there at 8:15 so if
you plan to travel with our group, please be there a bit earlier than that.
We plan to be leaving the Buzz Inn restaurant by 9 AM.  As you can tell, we do
not plan to take time there for breakfast.  We will just meet up with those
who decide to meet us there and travel together to Wenatchee.

The AHCA Delegates voted at the last meeting to hold
this event annually the last weekend in August, to get
the Healeys out and get them seen by the public, all

Hi everyone!
Major kudos to Day's and Tate's, and their helpers, for their wonderful
hospitality this weekend!!  Saturday activities included a tech session
by Steve Day, tour to the Wenatchee burn area NW of town, wine tasting at
Chateau Faire La Pont Winery, chicken dinner, and birthday cake for Walt
Harrison.  Sunday brought a trip to the Tate's in Yakima via Blewett Pass
and the Ellensburg Canyon.  After parking on Tate's back lawn amidst some
of their other collector cars, we enjoyed tours of Steve T's body and
paint shop.  More fabulous food included pulled pork sandwiches and ice
cream in honor of Austin-Healey's National Ice Cream Social Day.  Burp! 
I noticed a can of "Fast Reducer" in Tate's shop....does it work on
humans?!

Phil and I have continued in an eastward direction and are in Othello
tonight.  The first time I've EVER seen a recliner chair in a hotel room!
 Phil is occupying it watching TV, while I did the laundry and ironing! 
And of course posted more photos!!  I'm glad you're all enjoying them. 
Remember to click on them to make them large enough to see!  We've been
gone long enough now that I have to look back a day to see what day we're
on!

As always, it was a fun and informative trip to Wenatchee and now Yakima.
Thank you both to the Days and the Tates for their wonderful hospitalilty.

On my way home yesterday, I had the misfortune to be sitting at an
intersection in front of someone who forgot that  red means stop!  Looks like
"The Bride" won't be making any other trips this year as she facing some major
restorative surgery.

Hope everyone else had a safe journey home.

Thanks to all who attended our BBQ/Planning session.  Great turn out and 
response to our request for "volunteers" to fill the various committee 
assignments.
Special thanks to Bruce and Mitzie Goodrich who have accepted

I am sending Jim McDermott updates to the various activity and sign up 
sheets to post on the Club web site since the CAHC list will not post 
attachments.
I have a call in to the Hotel to check the number of reservations-in the

We have 13 signed up for the Ladies Tea so far.  Names are on the
