Wow! Rendezvous in 2 weeks, Run To The Ranch 5 weeks after that! Each year 
we want it to be even better, and with what we are working on, I think love 
this one. More on those detais soon.

The basic details follow last year, arrive at 1 pm after your own lunch 
plans,tech session in the air conditioned shop, tour at 3pm., dinner at 
5-ish, with dessert and social time long into the night. One thing I enjoyed 
last year was opening the hoist/shop to check out some of your individual 
car questions...let`s do that again.

THEN, last year we talked of touring to Yakima Sun. to see Steve and Bonnie 
Tate`s body and paint shop. Steve and Bonnie have confirmed that offer and a 
BBQ lunch to any that are interested in touring down, arriving 11-12-ish, 
BBq on their lovely trellis vine shaded patio,  shop tour and off on the 
road to home. Steve is a master craftsman and is putting on a 2hr tech 
session at Rendezvous....DON`T MISS EITHER ONE OF THESE OPPORTUNITIES!

Please RSVP to me on both the Sat and Sun ideas so we can have enough 
food.We would LOVE to break the record of 22 cars and 48 people for the Sat 
gathering!

A Northern route.

Beckie and I will be traveling over Highway 2 Sunday.
Leaving Woodinville at 8:00.
If we hear from any one in the Wenatchee area, we can maybe hook up with
them around 9:30.
We plan to travel South from there in a meandering way hopefully
avoiding freeways.
Into the hotel by mid-afternoon.

Let us know if you are interested in joining us and we can establish
some meeting points.

Hello all,

Here it is, 3 days before departure to Richland for Rendezvous 2007 and I find
myself without a reliable distributor.  My original disty came back worse than
when I sent it out to British Land Rovers Northwest to be "restored and
re-graphed" by "someone in Olympia".  The "bush job" was a total failure.

I have several options kindly suggested people on the healey list:

1    Borrow a reliable working DM6A

2    Borrow or buy a malory distributor to get there and swap it back to the
original for concours judging and then back again for the trip home

3    Any other ideas that will get me there and back?

I'd really appreciate any help or advice.  Richard Bittmann

Upon return ours was not only a drizzle, but a heavy rain through Renton

First, I would like to thank Lois, Jan and their crew for a great meet.  It
was very well organized, and I had a wonderful time.  Thanks also for
welcoming my son (and driver), Roger, into my "Healey family".  He also really
enjoyed himself, and learned a lot about our cars...including how a
non-synchro first gear needs to be handled.  He drives a 2001 Corvette.

Second, I would like to mention that the Kirkland Concours d' Elegance has a
British Car class this year.  Three Austin Healeys will be shown, representing
the first (100-4), middle (early 3000)  and last (BJ8) of the production run
of big Healeys. I do not know who owns the 100-4 or the BJ8 that will be
shown, but I hope they are Cascade Club members.  My "Healey Blue"/Ivory BN7
MK2 will represent the middle series cars, assuming I don't blow it up b/4
then.  The C d' E is September 9th.

Thanks from Sue and me to everyone who had a hand in
organizing and presenting the "Rendezvous in
Richland."   The pace of the event was great -- not
too much to do, and not too little -- and even with
everything I had going on, it was great to be able to
do it and still not have to miss anything because I
was involved in concours judging (thanks Jim), a
seminar, and giving boat rides.

I think that the auction seminar was well received,
and the Healey boat ride raffle winners seemed happy. 
The 51-year-old boat and motor performed flawlessly,

(Was slightly surprised that aside from John Wilson,
donators of auction items were not
acknowledged/credited, but perhaps that's something to
note for next time.)

The drive home went well, and despite predictions of
showers in Portland, we managed to avoid all but a few
drops -- this is quite important to someone driving a
Healey 100 for 200+ miles each way with no weather
protection beyond aeroscreens!

*DIRECTION TO DOUG & KAREN MILLER'S HOUSE

 From Ferries:
Bainbridge ferry at Coleman Dock Seattle-*Follow Highway 305 from ferry 
about 6 miles; cross the Agate Pass bridge; take *first right *(at the 
casino which is on the left) to Suquamish.  Stay on the Suquamish-Miller 
Bay Fd to the intersection with Highway 104 at the 76 gas station 
(Kountry Korner)-Go straight through the signal past Albertsons.  You 
are now on the Hansville Rd.

*From Hansville Rd:
*Stay on the Hansville Rd to and through Hansville (about 8 Miles).  At 
Hansville the road bends left (West) and becomes Twin Spits Rd.  Go past 
the fire station to the intersection with Hood Canal Drive (about 1 1/2 
miles from Hansville).  Turn left (South) on Hood Canal Drive for about 
1+ mile.  Turn right (West) at the *2nd *intersection with Vista Key 
Drive.  Stay on Vista Key Dr for 3 blocks to Beaver Rd.  Turn left and 
then right at the first driveway-marked with our address and name.

*Edmonds-Kingston ferry:
*Follow highway 104 about 3 miles to the intersection with the Hansville 
Rd at the Albertson's shopping center (Kountry Korner-AKA Kingston 
Crossing-AKA George's Corner).  Turn right (North) on to the Hansville 
Rd and follow the directions above "From Hansville Rd"

*From Tacoma or Shelton:
*Follow signs and highways to Bremerton.  Follow Highway 3 past 
Bremerton to the Poulsbo-Bainbridge Island- Kingston exit.  Turn right 
at the end of the exit on to Highway 305.  Get in the left lane, at the 
2nd intersection there will be a left turn lane to Bond Rd. (Highway 
307).  Turn left on to Bond Rd and stay on Bond (307) to the 
intersection with the Hansville Rd.  Turn left on to the Hansville Rd 
and follow the directions above "From Hansville Rd".

Note:  The internet maps shown on Google and Mapquest are good, but *DO 
NOT  *follow their written instructions after you are on the Hansville 
Rd.  Their suggested route via Little Boston Rd is a little shorter but 
most people who try to follow them get lost on the S'Klallum Indian 
reservation.

problems and solutions, with some knock you out training aids!

Then we will take our cars on a local 1 hour tour, to include the twisty two 
lane farm/orchard roads through the elegant housing development on Eagle 
Rock, with sweeping spectacular views of the valley. We will see up close 
the results of a recent wildfire that burned right up to some of their 
doorsteps! We will take several photo op stops.

Then on to the Chateau Fair Le Pont winery for wine tasting and gift shop, 
with a tour of their operation, you will love it! We have visited twice 
recently to make sure.

Returning to the Ranch, we will have roasted chicken, salad, french bread 
and veggie dish, with dessert to follow.

After the fine food, we will conduct the official August CAHC meeting ( 
still in the airconditioned shop mind you ), and then open up the shop for 
more of your questions/concerns on your cars, and socialize until we are 
done... or 9 am Sun.

9am Sun. we have added a tour to Yakima to Steve and Bonnie Tate`s , they 
have agreed to host us for a BBQ lunch and tour of his body/paint shop. 
Steve does John Wilson`s work, and recently did Kent Lamberts gold level 
Healey! This part can be short, so we can get back on the road and " Home 
before Dark" as Joseph Lucas said.

Our hope is that those of you that haven`t made it to the Ranch yet, will 
plan on doing so this year, and break our old record of 48 people and 22 
cars, ( that`s right, you don`t have to bring a Healey to be welcome!).

I have received some questions about groups traveling together to
Wenatchee from Puget Sound on Saturday the 25th.

Please let me know if you would be willing to be the contact person
for a group traveling either of the following two routes on Saturday:

1) I-90 to hwy97 and then over to hwy2
2) Hwy2 from Everett/Monroe all the way

We can work out a meeting place in the morning for one or both of
these tours, and those who do not have a plan yet can feel free to

Richland trip and your coming back memories and observations.

Yes, I received the shirt beautifully.  I really like the color I selected and
the logo on the front is nicely done.  My compliments to the designer.

I know I missed a great event but it was unavoidable.  I am the Rescue
Director for the American Boat Racing Association (ABRA).  As such I was in
Detroit MI for the Gold Cup the weekend before the Rendezvous and did not
return to the Pacific Northwest until late Monday.  Then the following week
(last Wednesday) I left Portland for the Tri Cities to officiate at the
unlimited hydroplane races there this past weekend.  In my advanced age I am
slowing down a little.  I just thought trying to squeeze in the Rendezvous
in-between two hydroplane races was a bit much.  Besides I had laundry to do.

Combined Cascade Austin Healey and Tyee Triumph Clubs Tour and Barbecue!
Hosted by Sheila Findlay. Tour begins at 1:00pm at Starbucks at the
Hwy 512 exit on I-5 south of Tacoma. We'll have a two-hour tour from
there back to Sheila's house for a barbecue, $5 a head. All food is
provided. There will be lemonade, otherwise bring your own beverages.
Also a good idea to bring folding chairs for plenty of outdoor
seating. Please contact Sheila to let her know you're coming so she
can plan food.
