I hope you are all as anxious as we are to be on the road next weekend.  It
looks like the weather is going to be great, and you know that the Millers
have planned a fun time for us. (I bet Doug can still get you in somewhere if
you have not reserved a place yet.)  This is nearly the last of our events
(though we have at least one more tour) for this year and I would hate to see
any of you not enjoying the top down weather again before next summer.  Our
cars were not built to be in the museum or the garage all the time, lets get
them on the roads.  Our road trip only took us 3200 miles and we are ready for
more.

Well, based on the call from the insurance company on Friday, the Bride will
have seen her last function on the Run to the Ranch.  Pemco deemed her a
complete total.

Jury is still out whether she can be resurrected at all or will just become an
organ donor.  Only time will tell, so I am again without a running Healey.

While I had my BN7 MK2 at a car show yesterday, a guy came up to me and asked
if I knew anyone that wanted to buy an Austin Healey.

He has a 1959 BN4 that he has owned for 30 years.  He and his wife have lost
interest in it, and it just sits in his garage.  He said it has some small
rust "blisters" in the rocker panels, but otherwise was a good car.  He said
he wanted $20,000 for it, but further discussion indicated he might go as low
as $15,000.  I told him I would spread the word around.  I am in the middle of
restoring an other BN7 and have no interest in his car.  I have not seen the
car and have no financial interest in him selling it.

The latest issue of Sports Car Market Price Guide shows the price range on
this car from $25,000 to $40,000.

The guy's name is Carl Christenson.  Cell 206-947-3078  Home 206-783-9707  The
car is in the Seattle, WA area.

    All,

     I agree with Alex, our NW Meet was really well done and enjoyable.

     Some of our Canadian Healeyists complimented us for being so
     friendly and putting on a "fun time".

     Doug is to be congratulated for connectling our event attendees with
     yet two more great car collections which the "average joe" would not
     have access to !  I gave up the "Wonderful Tea" session to see the
     collections and I was not disappointed !

Subject: Mt Baker tour postponed

Our fearless tour leader, Jim Slostad, has informed me that the Mount Baker
HIghway is closed because of the low snowlevel and high amounts of snow.
Therefore, the run to Mount Baker is being postponed until October 6, the
following Saturday.  Jim Slostad will follow up with further details next week
when things are more obvious as to what the weather is gonna do.  The forest
service right now is saying they will reopen the gate next weekend if the
weather warms.  We will plan on a run either way, and go to Fort Casey or
somewhere if not to Baker.  Look for Jim's update middle next week.
