Or Baker, all most. Message-ID: <354593.1951.qm@web58108.mail.re3.yahoo.com> Wow, Great top down fall weather. Calls for a backroads trip to Granite Falls Sunday for lunch. The fall colors are great and the sun will be with us. We will leave the 405 Exit 22 Park and Ride at 11:00. Snohomish, then lost in the foot hills to Garnite Falls. I am sure I can find a dead end so we have to turn around at least once. (A tradition of Bob's that must be continued.) After lunch, maybe a side trip to the end of the pavement of the loop highway halfway to Darrington. (About 30 miles East of Granite Falls.) The turn around is at the Monte Cristo trail head. Returning to Monroe and Woodinville by Rosinger Lake. Probably back to P/R by about 4. Let us know if this is something you want to join us on. Please send an e-mail so we will know you are coming. Cheers, Haluk Ones who read my last article which also describes our BJ7 brake problem at Vashon last summer will now notice that the real problem was not the dirt but corroded disc brake pistons. After the article I checked them and they definitely need replacing. After cleaning the the old chrome ones the brakes worked fine. I ordered SS pistons from Moss and they were here when we arrived on the 2nd of October. BUT, the rubber repair kit was on a long back order. Victoria British don't have them. My check in internet did produce one company with an offer but I did not order. Can someone let me know three reliable sources for this part. The rubbers in there look good but I sure would like to put in new ones (assuming they are not from a backyard Bangladash shop). After being rained out of the Mt Baker trip last weekend, it was wonderful to have blue sky the last few days. Phil decided yesterday that a Sunday drive was called for, and Bob+Marilyn Cole, Lois+Neil Buhman, and Carlos Cruz+Ollie the Lab joined us for an excursion on back roads thru Snohomish, Machias, lunch in Granite Falls, Mountain Loop Hwy to Big Four Mtn picnic area, back thru Granite Falls, south past Lake Roesiger and in to Monroe where we chose our own routes home. Warm when we stopped, and crisp when on the road (hats and earmuffs were in order!). A great day even tho I didn't have time to make cookies! He is the third owner with all the original paperwork. Though he is compelled to sell it, he prefers that it be to someone that is gonig to care for it as he has over these many years. He would not like to sell it to someone that is going to paint it resale red and turn a quick buck. Instead, he would like to sell it to someone that is going to give it the care it needs to get it on the road and to enjoy it for what it is, a great car with some wear. That is about all I can tell you about it now, but if you are intersted in buying a 100-4 that is original and never restored, this is your chance. If you are interested, give me a call. I am not brokering this car, but as President of the club, I am willing to assist any member. I am so glad to hear he does not wish to sell it to someone looking to turn it over and make money. He cares about who gets the car. Message-ID: <360442.40420.qm@web36106.mail.mud.yahoo.com> Hi, my Dad (Dee Norton) used to belong to this club in the 70's. He also raced his 1954 100-4 in SCCA/ICSCC during the late 60's and 70's. He recently passed away due to a heart attack. He went quickly and painlessly. My brother and I have inherited his 1953 100-4 that he used to drive daily until he decided to change some wiring. He then was going to restore it 100%. Well that never happened. The car has been in his heated garage for about 25 years or so. He also has 4+ blocks/cranks, unknown number of heads, sets of carburetors, complete bolt on body work from his former race car. We believe there are at least 5 transmissions and tons of other stuff. He collected this stuff over a 40 year period. My Dad was a pack rat and never threw anything away. I seem to have inherited this talent also. So we are left with a complete car that needs mechanical restoration. It is all there but has not run in a very long time. This is not a barn find, as it is in way better condition then that. The body is in good condition, although a through close inspection may reveal some rust. My Dad removed the transmission, and unbolted the rear axle. We are going to locate the original hardware and bolt the axle back in place so it will roll. We may re-install the transmission and driveline also. We are in the process of cataloging all the manuals, books, parts and taking pictures. We are looking to sell this as a complete package including all the Whitworth tools as well. We are not looking to get rich or more then what the package is worth. But we do not want to give it away either. Most important to my Brother and myself is that this goes to a Healey enthusiast. So if any of you folks can help establish a value for this we would appreciate it. Once that is established if any of you have an interest we would be more then happy to set up an appointment to view the Healey and it"s collection of parts and tools. We would love to restore and drive the Healey but we do not have the time or funds to make this happen. We want it to go to someone local who does.
