My Fellow Healey Enthusiasts,
Seeing Rob's note brings back fond memories of my friends in the Great
Northwest. I hope this finds you all in good health and warm
spirits. The idea of the Frost Bite Tour raises my anticipation of
getting the Healey out and on the road again. Unfortunately the
ground hog here hasn't been cooperating. We have 18" of fresh snow
and temps in the teens. Don't even get me started on the wind chill.
Let's just say the Mistress is put away and will continue to slumber
for another 6 - 10 weeks before it sees the light of day. Have a
great tour and take a moment to think of us poor souls still digging
out.
I realize it's probably a little too early, but I hope some of you are
thinking about attending Conclave this year. The Midwest Region AHCA
club will be hosting it this year in Galena, IL about three hours west
of Chicago, along the Mississippi River in the northwest corner of the
state. The town of Galena is an old lead-mining town dating back
before the Civil War. The quaint downtown area is full of buildings
built in the mid-1800's through the turn of the century. Home to more
Civil War generals than any other town in the country, you will find a
tremendous amount of American history and pride. The dates for
Conclave are July 11 - 16, 2010. More details can be found at http://www.austinhealeyconclave.com/
. Having made the trip from Seattle to Chicago and back several
times, I can suggest some great roads and sites along the way. I'm
looking forward to raising a pint and toasting my Cascade friends.
The first round is on me!
Cheers,
Carlos Cruz
PS: Becky, keep the wonderful pictures coming. It's great to see
everyone.
