Hi Team,

Not sure if any of you received this email, so just wanted to make sure and so
I'm "sharing the joy" of news of another car show opportunity this summer.

Cheers from the Southern Branch here in Portland,
RT

The Seward Park Centennial Committee would like to invite your participation
in Seward Park's Centennial Celebration that includes a pre-1960 Classic Car
Show.

2011 will mark Seattlebs Seward Park centennial, and we plan to celebrate
throughout the year!

In addition to our Magnificent Forest, Plants, Birds, and Geology, Seward Park
has a rich history we will be celebrating.B As Seward Park was away from the
developed area of Seattle, the automobile was a significant factor in the
Olmsted Brothers plans for the 277 acre park.B To recognize this historical
part of the parks history, we are having a display of vehicles representing
the decades through 1950. We hope you will join us to highlight this important
aspect of our history.

The main event will occur on 16 July 2011, which is the day we are planning to
include a Classic Car Show.B The automobiles will be displayed on a paved
parking area that will be closed to general vehicle traffic.B There is a very
large covered picnic shelter and lawn areas where the car clubs can set up
displays and have a picnic.

We would like to stage the cars in the morning as early as possible.B This
will provide an opportunity to stage a sampling of the cars to participate in
a parade around the park's Lake Washington shoreline (~ 2.5 miles).B Note
that this one time opportunity is on the paved road now normally closed to all
vehicular traffic.B After the parade and throughout the day, people's choice
voting will take place with prizes for the winners.B Additionally there will
be people dressed in period costumes to add to the flavor of the event.

We will have a limited area to park trailers and tow vehicles within Seward
Park.B I will need to know how many and what the length of the tow vehicles
with trailers would be.B As there is only so much space we can use, I do not
want to over commit.

If you know of other car clubs that might be interested in displaying, please
give them my contact information.B We have room for a total of 80 vehicles,
targeting those built prior to 1960.

Our web page is set up for the event at http://www.sewardparkcentennial.org

We are working with local food providers like The Skillet -
http://www.skilletstreetfood.comB intending to have three participants.B If
your group would like to picnic, I have reserved the very large covered
shelter area next to where the cars will be parked. Please let me know how
many tables you would like.B We also have use of the field between the
restrooms and the covered shelter that can be used to set up a display of your
club, etc.B Again, please let me know if you would like to use a portion of
the field, and what you would like to use it for.
