Anyone who had nothing to do one day, and took their steering wheel off the
Healey to look at the horn components, this question is for you. Don't tell
me not to do it, cause it's a done deal. I've got a question regarding the
orientation of the two small, metal rectangles, located at 5 o'clock and 7
o'clock below the trafficator, pinned in the middle so they hinge, and that
push against the outside metal collar when the trafficator is moved left or
right (depending on your politics) to indicate which direction you hope to
go.
One end is squared flat, while the other is half-rounded to match the
????????
inside/outside of the unit. Should the half-round end point in or out? The
unit exploded into my lap during my efforts to photograph the situation.
I've
been able to reconstruct the majority of the horn, but need to know the
orientation of these two metal pieces.

The metal collar that spins around the hub inside horn has a piece attached
that looks like a fork with the two inner tongs missing. It spins with the
collar. The steering wheel itself has a pin attached to it that looks like
the two missing tongs that look like they would fit inside the collar tongs.
Do the wheel tongs fit inside the hub tongs, or do they travel around the
inside the wheel area, never to meet???? I've taken pictures of the unit,
tongs included that I can send you if you want clarification.

Hope those of you gone to rendezvous have a great time.........

One of these days...........
Nick
