I provided them with the chassis and engine number I was very quickly provided with a certificate of authenticity that gave me all the information about the car as originally produced. The information on the certificate included: Car/Chassis number; Engine number; Body number; Specification (in my case: LHD, North American Export); Colour of exterior, trim and hood; Date built; Date dispatched; Destination; Key number; Details of equipment (in my case: wire wheels, heater, overdrive, laminated windscreen, Road Speed tyres. If Philip contacts the Trust and provides the chassis and engine numbers he should be able to obtain the information he seeks. British Heritage can research but will charge hefty fee. Look under the dashboard with flashlight at the bottom of the shroud. Unless the shroud was removed for the repaint there should be factory overspray of the original color.
