Hello Brian

Can you please continue to forward this press release to our Club Members,
our wonderful Club Affiliates in Washington and Oregon and have it added
into the Wings please?

The ABFM at VanDusen Gardens in Vancouver B.C. this year will have the
Austin Healey as one of its featured Marques (60th anniversary) along with
the Aston Martin, Morris Motors and Vincent Motorcycles. They will also be
giving us extra space and an area for a canopy for regalia, information and
such.

The next day Sunday, is the All British Vancouver to Whistler Car Run. It is
a great run and the cars will be displayed in the Olympic Plaza once more.

It is advisable for members to sign up for car spaces/attendance early for
VanDusen. Spaces are limited and the ABFM has been a sellout for spaces the
past 3 years.

Please also see the LINK below to Western Driver Magazine. They have a blurb
for us in their publication.

Much appreciated

Andy

Austin-Healey 60th

The All British Field Meet (ABFM) 2013 is pleased to announce the
celebration of 60 years of the Austin-Healey marque at this year's Greatest
Show on British Wheels held annually on the Victoria Day weekend (Saturday
May 18, 2013) in the magnificent Vancouver VanDusen Botanical Garden.

The production model of this iconic British sports car first graced dealers'
showrooms in 1952. The year before at the London Motor Show, the prototype
had caused a sensation, leading to a manufacturing deal between Donald
Healey and Leonard Lord of the Austin Motor Company.

The early Big Healeys, with their beautiful, pure body lines, used the
Austin A90 Atlantic four-cylinder 2660cc engine, with progressive
models-100-6 and 3000-utilizing the larger 6-cyclinder 2912cc engine from
BMC C-series used in Austin A90 and Wolseley 6/90 models.

The early 4-cylinder models were light and nimble with true sports car
characteristics, while later models morphed into more of a fast-touring
sports car with more creature comforts and luxury trim.

More than 17,000 Austin-Healey models were built and sold around the world
between 1953 and 1967, with the more economical Bugeye and MkII-IV
Austin-Healey Sprite models completing the production run (129,354) in 1971.

In spite of rapidly increasing values, Austin-Healeys can be regularly seen
on streets, at shows and on-track at Vintage race meets throughout the
Pacific Northwest.

On the Great Lawn at VanDusen, an expanded display area has been reserved in
anticipation of a record number of all models-1953 - 1971-for this year's
show. Members of the Austin-Healey Club of BC will host the display and
customized Austin Healy Dash badges will be given to Class Entrants.

A special Donald Healey plaque award to celebrate the 60th anniversary of
Austin-Healey will be presented to a deserving entrant by the BC
Austin-Healey Club president.

If you own an Austin-Healey or a British classic vehicle in any condition,
we hope you will join in the fun with fellow enthusiasts and display it
along with approximately 650 other great classics to stir up some memories
of the golden age of motoring.

The Greatest Show on British Wheels, ABFM 2013 is produced by the Olde
British Classic Car Society, which encourages the understanding,
appreciation and preservation of classic vehicles and motorcycles for the
enjoyment of their owners and the general public.
