Sorry for the delay ,
My car also has the number 1311 on the front section of the crank case,
perhaps this was a casting number, some one will know about that.
Does your engine have cooling fins , these started sometime in 03.
does the chassis of the car have a hole for the chain to go though or does
it have a U as on later frames, my mid 1903 has the U.
The Schrebler Model R will fit all cars as you need to make a 90% conector
with a flange on each end , I made mine out of a gas or water pipe bend .
I saw a Holly at last year but it was $ 400.00 and i did not think it was
worth it at that price
Get your dad to come to hershey with us in October , we have about 3 spaces
left.

Hi Ian,
Thank you so much your answer, that is both very helpful and very
interesting.
Sorry to answer to you now only, I was travelling lately.
The carb fixing bolts on the cylinder head are horizontal : so now i
understand that we have the 04 model (so far, i thought it was more likely
a
1903, but thanks to you i see now it is a 04 !).
There is a number on the engine : 1311.
as it is the 04, I will look for a Holly carb (I understand the Schrebler
Model R
you've got is suitable only for the 03, isn't it?).
Do you know whether your pal is in a position to remake that 04 carb
as he has the molds (it is so great to have those molds!)?
If so would you have an idea about the price?
I hope you a good and funny work reassembling the gear box.
Our car in the South West of France, where we live (near Toulouse).
Thanks again
All the best
Kindest regards
Dominique
