there were two types of lock down for the 5 spd trans ,  one had a nut and
lock plate ( it sucks) the other had a nut and lock nut (much better) . one
of hte problems with the 5 spd is that these have a habit of coming
undone...   also some of them had a main shaft that would not accept the two
nuts
there is a few things that can be done  to fix the problem with either type
. but too much to type
