I had one in the good old days.
   
  You can make your own if you are handy.
   
  Besides the tact and dwell which you will need to buy, all they were was a variable speed motor to drive the distributer, clear Plexiglas plate with the degrees marked on it that is fixed and an opaque plate with a slot that lined up with the distributer shaft (rotor) to block the light that rotates.  There was a 12 volt light inside the box that was activated by the points and as you turned the distributer the light would flash.  You can see the slot through the clear Plexiglas and tell when the points are opening.  If you wish to check a vacuum advance add a vacuum meter and siphon pump.
