[Roadsters] What's up with the hood on this car?

Look closely, the round holes in the hood are for the carbs.  Likely because 
the L24 sits higher in the frame to clear the cross member given that it's 
mounted forward a bit so less has to stick through the hole cut in the 
firewall.
