[Roadsters] Body pads / tank strap pads

I know this has been cussed and discussed but I cannot find the info I had saved 
regarding this topic, so.......... 
 
Now that my back is on the mend, I am going to replace my gas tank with a fresh 
one. 
 
What is the stuff called that people use for body pads--neoprene right? and is it the same thing recommended for tank strap pads? Does some one have an online source?
