The headline on that article is off base. It was a pain of Nissan's own
making, ditching a well-known, well-respected brand name to achieve consistent
parent-company corporate branding.
Some joker with an MBA probably got a bonus for the idea -- and Ihope he spent
it quick, because the flak and fallout that followed probably got him fired
(that is, if there is any justice in the worldb&).
