It folds down.  Does not come apart.

Does your top fold down into the area behind the seats, or must the
top be removed and stored in the trunk?  I don't believe the remove-and-store
1500 top frames are interchangeable with the early 1600 and 2000 frames.
 That's all I can contribute.

Almost interchangeable.
On my '65 SP310, 2 bars have 3
screw holes each end [interchangeable]
and the 3rd has 2 screw holes each
end.
Apart from that, their shape is virtually identical.
Your frame and bar
may be different.
