Posting on the 311 list under CarShows, Events is the best way to alert everyone, I think.
 Pick a date a month or so out that doesn't conflict and then post a reminder or other info every week or 2 otherwise it gets missed. 
A picture of some barbecued ribs should get their attention. :-)
